When successful founders start acting as early stage investors, they increase the opportunities available to successive generations of entrepreneurs. The panel moderator will explore with his panel what motivates them to reinvest their wealth into the next generation of founders and how they were able to transition their entrepreneur lessons to this new role.


Fadi Ghandour
 Founder & Vice Chairman, Aramex
Managing Partner, Wamda Capital

Fadi Ghandour is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Aramex, one of the leading global logistics and transportation companies. He is currently Managing Partner of Wamda Capital, a new Venture Capital fund focusing on technology investments in the Arab World.

Fadi is also the Managing Partner of MENA Venture Investments, a seed capital investment company investing in early stage tech companies. He is Member of the Board of Abraaj Capital, Member of the Board of Endeavor Global, Member of the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and Member of the Board of Trustees at the American University of Beirut (AUB).

Passionate about social entrepreneurship, Fadi is the Founder and Chairman of Ruwwad for Development, a private-sector led community empowerment initiative that helps disadvantaged communities across the region overcome marginalization through activism, civic engagement, education and financial inclusion with support from the Ruwwad Micro Venture Fund, an equity-based fund providing seed capital and support for micro-businesses and micro-entrepreneurs.

Mike Ahearn
Managing Partner, True North Venture P

Mike Ahearn currently serves as Managing Partner of True North Venture Partners, L.P., a venture capital company that invests in early stage innovative businesses addressing some of the world’s most challenging problems in areas such as energy, water, agriculture and waste.

He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of First Solar, Inc., which Mike co-founded and led from 2000 through 2009. During that period First Solar grew from a start-up company with an advanced semiconductor technology for manufacturing low cost solar panels into a global leader in the solar power industry.

Mike serves on several additional boards of directors, including the boards of Cox Enterprises, a leading communications, media and automotive services company with revenues of nearly $16 billion and approximately 50,000 employees; Endeavor, a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the economies of emerging markets by identifying and supporting high growth, innovative entrepreneurs; and several True North portfolio companies.

Chris Rogers
Partner, Lumia Capital

Christopher T. Rogers, J.D. is a General Partner at Lumia Capital where he is responsible for leading Lumia's investment and value-add activities for companies with significant exposure to mobile platforms. In this capacity, Chris overseas Lumia's investments in Lenddo, Telly, and Betable. Prior to Lumia, Chris was the co-founder of Nextel Communications which he grew to $13B in sales and 19k employees before being acquired by Sprint for $35 billion. Chris brings 30 years of mobile industry experience as a founder, advisor, and operator. Most recently, Chris served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Spectrum, at Sprint (Fortune 100, 36K employees), where he oversaw mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments and joint ventures. He also was responsible for management and oversight of wireless spectrum licenses and Sprint's portfolio of emerging technology investments.

Prior to the 2005 Sprint acquisition, Chris was Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Nextel Communications, Inc. In this role, Chris helped to spearhead the roll-up of local carriers that transformed Nextel into a major national operator. He also led the series of transactions in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Brazil that resulted in the creation of Nextel International, now an independent public company which reached over $6B of revenues. Chris was also responsible for negotiations with regulators, investors, and carriers in China, Saudi Arabia, India, Jordan, and Pakistan, among other geographies.

Hervé Cuviliez
Co-Founder, Diwanee
Founding Partner, Leap Ventures

Herve has 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur and investor and has particular expertise in operations, scaling and monetization. Herve started his career in Paris by creating his first interactive agency and sold it to DDB Worldwide (part of the Omnicom group) in 1999. Since then he has been in charge of all of the digital activities of DDB in France (1500 employees). In 1999, Herve also started his investment activities (including an investment in e-commerce venture, which was sold in 2010. Herve co-founded and was previously the CEO of Diwanee, a Middle East digital media company. He is currently a lead mentor under the acceleration program at EuraTechnologies, a leading European business incubator.


Allen Taylor
VP, Global Network

Based in San Francisco, Allen leads Endeavor’s efforts to connect its portfolio of 600+ high-growth companies with US-based mentors and investors. He oversees the Endeavor Investor Network – a program he launched in 2011 to connect US-based venture capital and growth equity investors with high-impact entrepreneurs and local investment partners across Latin America, Turkey, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. Since joining Endeavor in 2006, Allen has facilitated thousands of mentoring connections, and helped Endeavor companies raise more than $500M in equity capital.

Allen also serves as the Managing Director of Endeavor Catalyst, an innovative co-investment vehicle through which Endeavor can invest into its portfolio companies. Launched in January 2012, Endeavor Catalyst has made 19 investments to date across seven different emerging markets, including Globant (GLOB) in Argentina, in Turkey and Bebê Store in Brazil.

A native Californian and travel enthusiast, Allen has studied, worked and traveled in over 75 countries. A graduate of Princeton University, he has been recognized as a Fulbright Scholar, a Kauffman Fellow, and one of the “Top 99 under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders.” He is married and lives in Woodside, California.
